
Gyoza Recipe (Makes about 25 dumplings)
Ingredients:
- Filling:
- 150g ground pork
- 180g cabbage (or Chinese cabbage), finely chopped
- 30g chives (about 1/3 bunch), finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 piece ginger, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sake
- 1 tsp potato starch (optional for thickening)
- Dumpling Wrappers:
- 1 pack (about 25 pieces)

Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
- Mix ground pork, cabbage, and chives in a large bowl.
- Add minced garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, sesame oil, and sake. Combine well.
- Add potato starch if desired to help bind the mixture.
- Fill the Dumplings:
- Place a small amount of filling (about 1 tsp) in the center of each wrapper.
- Wet the edge of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and press edges to seal, creating pleats if desired.
- Cook the Dumplings:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add oil. Place dumplings in the pan and fry until bottoms are golden brown.
- Add a small amount of water to the pan, cover, and steam until wrappers are fully cooked.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
